Dogs are introduced to the A-frame, dogwalk, tire, tunnels, seesaw, weave poles and jumps. Dogs and handlers practice on short sequences of obstacles, and end the class by running a short agility course. Beginner classes offered in Winter in Williston. Intermediate
Dogs and handlers refine their obstacle skills and begin to reach each other's body language. Practice on more complex sequences. Begin learning to work at a distance. Learn to see an agility sequence from a dogs point of view, and learn strategies to ensure the dog's success. There is tremendous satisfaction watching your dog improve and seeing the dog's excitement and pride at successfully completing a sequence of obstacles. Even dogs who are bored with other forms of training quickly learn to love agility!

Agility Foundation Classes for any Levels
Contacts and Weaves
A 6-week class working solely on contacts and weave poles. For weave poles, we will develop drive and independent weave pole performance using the methods in Ann Croft's DVD "Dream Weaves." Dogs will learn to love their weave poles. For contacts, we will teach you how to train reliable contact performance, hitting the yellow zone every time. We'll use freestanding stairs to perfect 2-on, 2-off performance. Depending on the individual dog's progress, we will move these methods onto a low A-frame.

Jumping Skills
A 6-week class using jumping expert Susan Salo's latest methods. This is a fun, fast-paced class that dogs love. All agility dogs can benefit from this class. Learning how to jump well enables a dog to stay sound and confident throughout a long agility career. All our dogs can get over jumps, but most dogs need some help to learn how to look ahead, use their hindquarters, figure out distances and takeoff positions, and turn while jumping.
